Notes / Further information

A new mineral in the heavy mineral concentrates of the kaolinite deposit Kemmlitz was described by Liebscher for the first time in 1961. Kemmlitzite was accepted by the CNMMN of the IMA in the year 1967. The sample of kemmlitzite was deposited in the museum by the author W. Liebscher, Dresden, in the year 1972. The mineral was named for the type locality Kemmlitz near Mügeln, Northwest-Saxony.
