Notes / Further information

Sample of the WERNER collection, original label from WERNER with type locality existing. The mineral was designated by WERNER in 1817 as fibrous white "Speisskobold". BREITHAUPT also calls WERNERS material in 1817 fibrous white "Speisskobold", but in 1835 he suggests to call the mineral safflorite. Later on the mineral safflorite was confirmed by WEISBACH. He noted this on the label.
